Richmond's Gallery of Realist and Impressionist Paintings

JOSEPH CAVE
Joseph Cave is a leading Southern landscape painter who's brightly colored, boldly painted canvases reflect his 50 years as a professional artist living and working across the United States and in Europe. Joseph grew up in South Carolina, attended the University of Georgia and, following military service, received a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and an MFA from San Francisco State University. Although trained as an abstract expressionist, Joseph immediately turned to the Northern California landscape as his subject of choice.

Joseph Cave has had a long career as both a painter and as an art educator. He has taught at the Memphis Academy of Art, The San Francisco Art Institute and at the Mendocino Art Center in Northern California. Joseph's paintings can be found in many prominent collections including the North Carolina Museum of Art, Duke University Medical Center, Capital Broadcasting Corporation, the Memphis Academy of Art, and the Ritz Hotel (Lisbon, Portugal).
